The next version of HHVM is out (well it came out 6 days ago, I’ve just been at OSCON all week and haven’t had a chance to do this post).

Some of the highlights:

  • The other 100 bugfixes from our last lockdown.

  • hh_client and hh_server now build on OSX and don’t need .hhi files.

  • fastcgi params are now in $_SERVER.

  • $php_errormsg works.

  • PHP_VERSION now is 5.6.

Comments

  • PotatoDickButt: nice
  • Mat: I followed the install procedure, but I still have 3.0.1 after reinstall. What's wrong with the repository?
  • Paul Tarjan: Which distribution?
  • Mat: Sorry, I forgot to write. It is Ubuntu 13.10. I have this source added: deb http://dl.hhvm.com/ubuntu saucy main
  • Paul Tarjan: We don't support 13.10 anymore. Ubuntu distros are only supported until the next one comes out. (LTS distros are supported until the next LTS).
  • Alex: http://docs.hhvm.com/manual/en/context.http.php Are you going to implement stream socket contexts?
  • Joel Marcey: Alex, that is a bug in the documentation. We support stream_context_create() and the options provided in the link you gave. I created a GitHub issue to fix this. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. https://github.com/hhvm/hack-hhvm-docs/issues/311
  • Asendia Mayco: Hi there, I currently use Laravel 4.1.21 on HHVM 3.2.0 (Ubuntu 14.04) HHVM memory usage keep increasing until the process dies. I have tried this solution to no avail https://github.com/facebook/hhvm/issues/2973#issuecomment-48396033 and unfortunately ended by disabling HHVM's JIT :( Is there any solution regarding this issue?
